Two novel chemiluminescent probes known as CLSP and CLLP for detection of live Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes
These new probes are highly suitable for sensitive luminogenic bacterial enzymatic assays and offer a number of advantages:
- Ultrasensitivity – the improved luminophore has superior light emission and is 600-fold more sensitive than comparable fluorescent probes.
- A simple and quick experimental setup – enrichment and detection can be performed in a single test tube.
- Specificity – they are specific for pathogenic strains of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.
The two substrates are prepared by masking a luminophore with specific substrates for the two pathogenic bacteria. Available from Biosynth Carbosynth as enzyme substrates in 7 different formulations. CLSP is already available for purchase under the name AquaSpark™ caprylate.
Our AquaSpark™ chemiluminescent probes are making their way into diagnostic kits for rapid pathogenic bacteria detection.
